Download Stream-Cut Studio
Free for 14 days. Works alongside your existing OBS setup — Stream-Cut Studio is a window in your scene, not a replacement for it.
After installing
- Sign in on this site, open Account, and generate a pairing code.
- Open Stream-Cut Studio and type the code in. That machine stays connected until you revoke it.
- Point Stream-Cut Studio at the folder holding the videos you want to react to.
- Optional: connect OBS under Recording software so Stream-Cut Studio can start your recording and read its exact position.
Installing it: the warning you'll see, and why
When you open the installer, Windows or macOS will probably warn you that it's from an unidentified developer. We want to be upfront about that: it is expected, and here is the honest reason. Operating systems trust software whose maker has bought a code-signing certificate and built up reputation with it. We haven't finished that yet — the certificates are costly and the reputation takes time to accrue — so for now both systems flag the app the way they flag anything they haven't seen before. It is a "we haven't paid the toll yet" problem, not a safety one.
The installer you download is served from our own domain, and the version you are getting is shown above the buttons. As a rule, only click through a warning like this for software you actually trust and downloaded from the maker's own link — which is what this is. Sorry for the extra clicks; they go away the moment signing is in place.
Windows (SmartScreen)
- Open the downloaded
.msi. - A blue box appears: "Windows protected your PC."
- Click More info.
- Click Run anyway, then follow the installer.
macOS (Gatekeeper)
- Open the
.dmgand drag Stream-Cut Studio into Applications. - The first time you open it, macOS says it "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." Click Done / Cancel.
- Right-click (or Control-click) the app in Applications and choose Open, then Open again in the box that follows. You only do this once; after that it opens normally.
- If you don't see an Open option, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway.
We're actively working on code-signing — an EV certificate on Windows and Apple notarization on macOS — and once those are live, the warnings disappear and these steps won't be needed.
